The Consulting Club at the Texas Medical Center
The Consulting Club at the TMC was undergoing a rebranding and filing for non-profit status and was looking for a completely new website. The organization had a few primary goals they sought to accomplish through their website including providing a training hub for their membership and presenting a professional appearance to both the greater TMC community and to consulting firms considering recruiting from the area.
Of particular concern was the conversion of members from the Basic to the (paid) Training membership level, which was a new development for the club as it had previously been funded by its parent university. To accomplish this, I included both a prominent call-to-action on the home page, as well as developed a ‘sales page’ for the membership levels illustrating the added benefits of Training membership and created an integrated advertisement strategy in all club communications and event postings, all of which contributed to converting members over 3X original projections.
Basic and Training members had access to differing portions of the website, which was delineated by both user-role specific navigation links and user-role protected content areas. Training members were provided with access to case study preparatory materials which were protected from download and screen-capture to prevent unauthorized distribution, embedded workshop slides and video recordings, and an exclusive forum. All users had access to the calendar and ticketing system which allowed the club to advertise events including a google map to the location of the event as well as sell tickets for each event.
